The Augustine is committed to providing the healthiest diet possible for optimal recovery and physical prowess. We keep processed foods to a minimum, and strictly limit white flour and refined sugars. These have proven to be problematic and addictive to those who eat them. The Augustine believes in providing fresh, whole foods to fuel the body during early recovery. Daily diet also consist of fruits and vegetables, some grown in our own garden.
The menu will be practical and duplicable. This is because the residents of the Augustine cook for one another, with Staff supervision and guidance. We do not believe that your loved ones need a chef to cook for them. They will benefit much more by learning how to feed themselves in a conscious way for the rest of their lives. Each day a cook crew of three residents is responsible for preparing meals for the community. New residents lean on senior peers for guidance during meal prep, and the community benefits from that daily teamwork.
